Chris Whearty
A qualified electrician and instrumentation technician with more than 20 years in the electrical trade, including extensive experience across Queensland coalfields. Chris progressed from apprentice in Ireland to Electrical Shift Supervisor at Saraji CHPP and founded All Mines Electrical to provide mine-site electrical labour, coordination and shutdown supervision.

Qualifications and Competencies
Two Decades in the Coalfields
Founded All Mines Electrical to supply mine-site electrical labour and shutdown supervision across the Bowen Basin. Concurrently engaged as Electrical Coordinator CHPP at Carmichael Mine on a 4/3 roster — planning shutdowns, coordinating trades and supporting AS/NZS 3000 and site SHMS requirements.
Led electricians through inspection, testing, fault finding and commissioning of the washplant refurbishment to hard-rock mining compliance. Managed work orders, permits and QA handover.
Planned and executed electrical shutdown scope safely and to schedule — HV/LV installations, hazardous area inspections to AS/NZS 60079, transformers, distribution boards and SWA cabling.
Supervised HV and electrical infrastructure upgrades including the 66 kV main substation upgrade, HV reticulation, the Process Water Feed Project and a 100 kA switchroom for the Microcell Processing Plant.
Supervised CHPP electricians, scoped work, issued permits and stepped up as CHPP Maintenance Superintendent. EEM delegate; contributed to switchroom upgrade feasibility (Form 4B, 100 kA arc-flash).
Day-to-day CHPP maintenance, work orders via 1SAP / Fiori, ICCs, permits and field leadership across the workgroup.
Shutdowns, hazardous area inspections, HV/LV installations and panel wiring across open-cut and underground sites including Saraji, Oaky Creek, Bundora and the Sarina bioethanol distillery.
Manufacture, refurbishment and testing of mining substations to AS3000 and AS2380.7 (AS/NZS 60079); obtained HV switching operator's ticket from ISES at Ergon Energy.
Apprenticeship and qualified electrician across domestic, commercial and heavy industrial — including Intel Pentium FAB24, power plant and a cement factory.
